General Information

The conference has an emphasis on access technology for the workplace. The exhibit area includes vendors of access technology (software and hardware), as well as opportunities for attendees to try out the latest products. The conference offers attendees:

  • Over 15 highly-focused presentations on practical, real-world issues and solutions regarding employment of people with disabilities
  • Exhibitors of access technology
  • Information booths featuring community based organizations
  • Developers of mainstream and access technology
  • Continuing education units

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
The official language of this conference is English.  eA'08 conference materials are available in alternative formats including Braille, large print, or CD.  Interpreting services and assistive listening devices are available.  Please check the appropriate box on the registration form to request these services. Devices are limited. Deadline is January 30th, 2008 to request services.

Speakers and exhibitors are responsible for providing their own handouts and promotional materials in alternative formats.  Recognizing that it is difficult to predict the composition and needs of the audience in advance, speakers should announcement at the beginning of their presentation that, shortly after the conference is over, they are willing to provide materials in alternative formats as needed.

ACCESSIBLE SERVICES
Sensory Access Foundation and TransAccess will make every effort to make this conference as user friendly as possible. There will be a booth set up for people who need assistance. To plan for appropriate accessibility, please indicate accommodations/services needed at the bottom of the registration form. If your authorized care provider will be attending the conference with you, please list their name in the accessibility section of the registration form. There is no fee for care providers accompanying paid attendees. The number of devices are limited. Please call, (408) 245-7330, to determine if the type of device available will work for you. If not requested, eA staff will not be able to provide devices. Deadline is January 30th, 2008.

For the eighth year, Microsoft is generously hosting the eA’08 conference at their beautiful Silicon Valley Conference Center. DIRECTIONS
From San Jose: Take U.S. 101 North (toward San Francisco). Exit at Shoreline Boulevard. Turn right onto Shoreline Boulevard. Turn right onto Pear Avenue. Turn right onto Inigo Way. Turn left onto La Avenida. The Silicon Valley campus is on the right.
